# SEO Checker

> Audit any page's on-page SEO in seconds: title, meta description, H1, canonical, indexability, images, links and schema, with a score and fixes.

Use it free at https://swipetolaunch.com/tools/seo-checker

## How to use it

1. **Paste a URL.** Any public page: your homepage, a pricing page, a blog post. We follow redirects to the final page.
2. **Run the audit.** We fetch the HTML the way a crawler does and check 15 on-page signals in one pass.
3. **Fix from the top.** Failures first, then warnings. Each item says what is wrong and what to change.

## What an on-page SEO check covers

On-page SEO is everything a search engine can read in the page itself, before links and reputation come into it. This audit fetches the raw HTML, the way Googlebot first sees it, and checks the signals that most often go wrong:

- **Title tag.** Present, one of them, 30–60 characters. It is the blue link in search results.
- **Meta description.** Present and 120–160 characters. Google rewrites it often, but a good one still wins clicks.
- **One H1.** The page's main heading, stating the topic.
- **Canonical URL.** One canonical, so duplicate URLs consolidate. The [canonical checker](/tools/canonical-url-checker) goes deeper.
- **Indexability.** No `noindex` in the robots meta tag or the X-Robots-Tag header. This is the single most expensive mistake on the list.
- **Mobile viewport, HTTPS and lang.** The basics of mobile-first indexing and accessibility.
- **Social tags.** Open Graph and Twitter card tags for link previews.
- **Images, words, links and schema.** Alt coverage, enough visible text to rank, internal links to go deeper, and JSON-LD structured data.
- **Response time.** How long the server took to answer.

## How the score works

Each check has a weight. Indexability, the title and the H1 weigh most; a missing Twitter card weighs least. A pass earns the full weight, a warning half, a failure nothing. The score is the share earned, out of 100. Use it to track one page over time, not to compare unrelated sites.

## What this audit does not see

It reads the HTML your server sends. Content rendered later by JavaScript is invisible here, and often slower for search engines to find as well. It also cannot judge whether the page answers the searcher's question, which is what ranks in the end. Pair it with the [heading analyzer](/tools/heading-analyzer) to check structure and the [broken link checker](/tools/broken-link-checker) to catch dead ends.

## A quick fix order

1. Remove any accidental `noindex`.
2. Write a specific title and meta description.
3. Make sure there is exactly one H1.
4. Add a self-referencing canonical.
5. Fill in Open Graph tags and image alt text.

## What you get

- 15 on-page checks in one pass
- Score out of 100 with weighted checks
- A specific fix for every warning and failure
- Reads robots meta and the X-Robots-Tag header
- Follows redirects and reports the final URL

## Questions

### Is this SEO checker free?

Yes. No signup, no limit on pages beyond a per-minute rate limit to keep the service fair.

### What is a good SEO score?

Above 90 means the on-page basics are in place. Between 70 and 90 usually means a few warnings worth fixing. Under 70 usually means a missing title, description, H1 or an indexing problem. The score only covers on-page signals, not backlinks or content quality.

### Does it check JavaScript-rendered content?

No. It reads the HTML the server returns, before scripts run. If your title or headings only appear after JavaScript runs, search engines may see the page later or not at all, and this audit will flag them as missing.

### Why does my page show as noindex?

Either a <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> tag in the HTML or an X-Robots-Tag: noindex response header. Staging settings, SEO plugins and CMS privacy toggles are the usual causes.

### How is this different from Google Search Console?

Search Console shows what Google actually indexed and how pages perform. This tool checks any page instantly, including competitors' pages and pages Google has not crawled yet.
