## About

Bombo is a pronunciation trainer for iPhone and Android aimed at clear, natural American English. You say a word out loud and it scores each sound. Green marks the sounds you got right and red marks the ones to fix. You can tap any sound to hear a native speaker say it, and you get specific tips, such as where to put your tongue for "th".

The course has 24 levels and 133 short lessons. It starts with sounds like "th" and "r" and moves on to word stress, rhythm, linking and intonation. Daily practice brings back the words you struggled with on a spaced schedule, and a tricky sound stays on your list until you clear it twice. A chameleon mascot changes color as you level up.

All speech analysis runs on the phone, so recordings are never uploaded or used for training, and lessons work offline. You don't need an account. One lesson or practice session is free every day. Bombo Premium unlocks unlimited lessons on weekly, monthly or yearly plans, and the yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial.

## How the score works

The percentage is the raw share of swipes that went right. Rankings weigh that share against the number of swipes (a prior of 25 swipes at 50%), so a high score from a handful of swipes ranks below a slightly lower score from many. Anyone can swipe without an account; each browser or account swipes a product once.
