# Frequently asked questions > Straight answers about discovering products, how ranking works, adding your product, founder pages, the API and privacy on SwipeToLaunch. ## Swiping & discovery ### What is SwipeToLaunch? SwipeToLaunch is a directory of new startups, SaaS and apps where you vote by swiping. You see one product at a time, Tinder style: swipe right if you'd use it, left if you wouldn't. Every swipe is one vote, and a weekly leaderboard ranks products by the share of people who swiped right. Adding a product is free with our badge on your homepage, or live today from $9 one-time; it takes a link and needs no account. ### Is SwipeToLaunch a Product Hunt alternative? Yes, without the daily upvote race. You see one product at a time and swipe right to launch or left to pass, one vote per person. The [leaderboard](https://swipetolaunch.com/board) is weekly: each week's launches are ranked by their share of launch votes, weighed by how many people voted, and every closed week keeps a page with its top three. ### Is it free? Yes. Swiping is free, and so is a listing: put our badge on your homepage and it goes live. Paid plans are one-time and skip the badge: Ship $9 (live today with a permanent dofollow link), Boost $19 (7 days first in new products and the leaderboard), Spotlight $29 (30 days first in new products and the leaderboard, pinned on the home page, a permanent gold tick). Signing in, with Google or a one-time email code, is optional: it lets you manage your listings from any device. ### What kinds of products are listed? New SaaS, web apps, mobile apps and developer tools. Each sits in one or two categories, from Developer Tools to Games, and you can browse or swipe a single category from [Explore](https://swipetolaunch.com/explore). ## Ranking & scores ### How does SwipeToLaunch ranking work? A score is the share of votes that said launch: 40 launches and 10 passes is 80%. The order is smoothed for sample size, as if every product started with 25 extra votes at 50%. So 100% from 2 votes ranks below 92% from hundreds: two votes are not a verdict. The percentage shown is always the plain share. Products with fewer than 5 votes join the [all-time leaderboard](https://swipetolaunch.com/board/all-time) once they reach 5. Every product competes in the week it launched (Monday to Sunday UTC), ranked by the votes it gets that week with the same smoothed score. When the week closes the result is final: the top three are its winners, and the week keeps a permanent page. Later votes still count toward the [all-time leaderboard](https://swipetolaunch.com/board/all-time). ### Can I change my vote? No. Each person votes once per product, and the vote can't be changed. ### Can I vote for my own product? You get one vote on it, like anyone else. Votes can't be bought, and coordinated or repeat voting breaks the [terms](https://swipetolaunch.com/terms): manipulated votes are discarded. ## Adding your product ### How do I add my product? [Paste a link](https://swipetolaunch.com/submit). The site drafts the listing: name, tagline, description, categories, logo and a screenshot. Check it and save. App Store and Google Play links work too. ### How long until my product is live? Free: once our badge is on your homepage and you press Check my site. Paid (from $9): the moment the payment clears. A moderator reviews every new listing, usually within a day, and removes anything that isn't a real product or breaks the [terms](https://swipetolaunch.com/terms). ### Are the links to my product dofollow? Free listings get a followed link while our badge is on their homepage; otherwise links carry rel="nofollow ugc". Every paid plan (from $9) keeps a plain followed link for good, never sponsored. Email [hello@swipetolaunch.com](mailto:hello@swipetolaunch.com) with the listing's link and what should change. Corrections from the product's own team are applied as they come in; anything else is checked against the product's site first. ## Founders ### What is a founder page? A public page with your name, photo, a line about you, your links and every product you've listed. People can swipe on founders too. Put your name on a listing when you [add your product](https://swipetolaunch.com/submit?founder=1). ## For developers & AI agents ### Is there an API? Yes. /api/products lists and searches products, /api/stats returns the totals and /api/deck returns products to swipe. JSON, open CORS, no key needed. Every page has a Markdown twin at the same path with .md appended, [/llms.txt](https://swipetolaunch.com/llms.txt) indexes the site, [/llms-full.txt](https://swipetolaunch.com/llms-full.txt) has the whole directory in one file, and /mcp is an MCP server for agents. ## Privacy ### What does a vote store about me? Votes are anonymous: a signed cookie remembers what you've voted on and holds no personal details. Per vote the site keeps the product, the direction, the time and coarse location and network data used to catch abuse; IP addresses are stored only as one-way hashes. No advertising trackers, nothing sold.
